I use trays less for filling space and more for giving a group of objects a reason to belong together. That is what I love about this one. Even three completely different pieces suddenly read as a composition once they share the same stone foundation.
I would also resist the temptation to cover every inch of it. On the 14-inch tray, I love a sculptural piece alongside florals or a beautiful bowl, with enough travertine still showing that you notice the material. For the 10.25-inch size, I would go even simpler—a favorite perfume, candle, and one piece of jewelry on a vanity is enough. The stone is part of the styling, so let it be seen.
