The Story

The color is what gets me first with this throw. Malbec has that deep wine tone that draws your eye without feeling overly bright or overly seasonal. I especially love it against cream or ivory upholstery because you immediately get that contrast, but the softness of the alpaca keeps the combination warm instead of stark.

I would casually drape it over the arm or back of a lighter sofa and let the fringe show rather than folding it too perfectly. Then I’d pull the color through one more time with a patterned pillow, a floral arrangement with burgundy or plum, or even a small piece of artwork nearby. It gives the room personality without requiring you to change everything around it.
