Shelf & Tabletop Styling

Small vases, jars, and objects sized to style a shelf

Height, spacing, and a mix of shapes are what the Shelf & Tabletop Styling collection at Third & Main is about. From small ceramic and glass vases to ginger jars, stone orbs, decorative boxes, and sculptural objects, these are the pieces we reach for when a bookcase or side table needs to look styled rather than stuffed.

Each piece is chosen at a scale that fits a standard shelf and plays well in a group, so you can build a vignette without crowding it. Because a shelf is where a room shows its personality, and it's also the first place things pile up.

A selection of small vases, ginger and lidded jars, stone orbs, decorative boxes, bowls, and sculptural objects sized for bookcases, built-ins, and side tables.

How to Style a Shelf

Work in groups of three at different heights: something tall like a vase or jar, something mid-height, and something low like an orb or a small box. Lay a few of your own books flat to make a pedestal, repeat one finish or color on every other shelf so the eye moves across the unit, and leave part of each shelf empty. That open space is what makes the rest look intentional.

Made for the shelves and side tables that collect a little of everything, these pieces bring order, texture, and a sense of intention to your home, one grouping at a time.

Best Used For

Styling a bookcase or built-in, finishing a side table or open kitchen shelf, filling the gaps between books, or swapping a few pieces to refresh a room for the season.
