2022 Summer Home Decor Trends Will Bring the Outdoors In

Last summer, the pandemic meant summer trends were all about making outdoor spaces more enjoyable spots to spend (so much) time. And while that hasn’t necessarily changed, the idea of bringing the outdoors in is already gaining traction. As we move into warmer months and summer beckons, here’s what industry experts are predicting for 2022 home decor trends. Spoiler — it’s looking like lots of greenery, beautiful shades of green and blue, and curves!

Green It Up

Apparently, we’re all really into greenery right now. Fresh flowers and sweet mini succulents are always a hit, but faux plants are increasingly popular. And it makes sense — today’s soft-touch, incredibly realistic faux greens aren’t your mama’s (or grandmother’s) fake plants! Between their virtually zero maintenance needs, range of styles and sizes, and versatility, they’re an easy way to immediately freshen things up.

We love a good faux plant here at Third & Main, and you’ll find greens and a stylish vessel in just about every box. Mix and match, swap out the pot, move them around, and rest assured these durable beauties will stay fresh and green through it all.

From Grays to Greens and Blues

While gray isn’t going anywhere, it’s definitely making room for watercolor hues that almost work as neutrals themselves. Soft blues and greens tie into the “bring the outdoors in” thing, and for summer, blue in particular is truly classic. It’s one of those colors that you can effortlessly pull in to just about any decor, which means it works whether you have a modern farmhouse or contemporary kind of style.

From pillow covers to throws to table linens, bringing in a subtle pop of blue or washed green is easy and definitely on trend.

Embrace those Curves

One of the biggest trends of the moment is movement in the form of curves. It’s popping up in furniture, but you’ll also see it in decor pieces. The soft silhouette is a simple way to break up harsh lines and add an organic element that keeps things feeling easy. We’re all about this look, and you’ll see it in the trays and softly rounded vessels we’re including in our home decor boxes.
